"The ILCA will provide member contact information (mailing addresses) to current, paid advertisers (who have advertised for the previous 6 months and are current on their ILCA accounts) for their use to promote their wares or services to the benefit of class members and class growth, at no charge. Misuse of this proprietary contact information will result in loss of advertising privileges for no less than 6 months. The list is not to be used for any reason other than to help our members. Any information sent from use of this list to our members shall not contain negative or malignant comments or be used to promote personal views or a pending class vote. Advertising may be submitted to the class office for pre-approval of content if the advertiser is not certain the content is appropriate. The Executive Committee shall make final decisions on any non-compliant use of this policy.

Also, the ILCA class office will not release or distribute email addresses of it's members to any entity for solicitation of products or services. The class will provide email services for advertisers (who have advertised for the previous 6 months and are current on their ILCA accounts) no more than 4 times a year. Approved email solicitations may be sent in format for distribution via the class office and it's distribution service. Events, fleets, areas and districts are free to use the email distribution system to promote regattas or other  events that promote Lightning sailing. The use of this service to our members is free and unlimited. Distribution lists may be limited by the Executive Secretary so that only interested parties receive the desired notices."
