We are pleased to announce that the 2013 ILCA World, Master and European Championships will be held at the Club Velico Castiglionese in Castiglione del lago, Italy.

Castiglione del Lago is a town in the Province of Perugia in the region of Umbria (central Italy), on the southwest corner of Lake Trasimeno. It is within an easy drive of many wonderful cities: Siena, Spoleto, Florence, Perugia and many others.
Many long time Lightning sailors belong to the CVC and are looking forward to hosting many International Lightning friends. Sailors, friends and family will be treated to an excellent Italian experience.

The Club Velico Castiglionese has:
-A large port able to accommodate over 200 boats
-Two cranes
-A great space to place the containers near the marina
-An equipped area to refit the boats inside and outside of the storage area
-Electricity and water near the docks
-Within the Club we have meeting space
-A bar
-Large dressing rooms for men and women;
-Restrooms inside the dressing room, the club, and outside near the dressing room

Transportation Tips:
The best airport to use is Rome-Fiumicino.
Once you are arrived you can catch the Leonardo express train from
Fiumicino to the railway station of Roma termini.

From Roma Termini there is a local train to arrive at Castiglione del lago
(2 hours). The distance from the station of Castiglione del lago to the
yacht club is about 1.5 km.
Another option is to rent a car in Rome-Fiumicino and then take the highway A1 (Firenze direction) and get the exit of Bettolle. Follow the signs Perugia for 18.5 km until the exit Castiglione del Lago (10 km).
Final option is to fly into Perugia (Sant'Egidio airport) which is well connected with
Barcellona and London via Ryan Air ( http://www.airport.umbria.it/ )
As you arrive in Sant'Egidio you should advise us and we will bring you to
