Country Allocation

Based upon the Document Governing All Sanctioned Lightning Class Championships, Articles Governing All Lightning World Championships Article V, Entries the following allocation has been calculated:

North America - 22
2- Canada
2 -Mexico
18 - USA

South America - 17
3- Argentina
3- Brazil
3- Chile
3- Colombia
5- Ecuador (3+2 additional as host country)
2- Peru

Europe - 17
8-Finland
3-Greece
3-Italy
3-Switzerland

AAO - 6
3- Australia
3- Nigeria


Each Country MUST confirm with the Class Office if they will use their allocated slots by February 1st - also any additional requests must be requested at this time.

By April 1st - Confirmation of Skipper Names to use each Country Slot must be recorded with the Class Office.

After April 1st Unconfirmed slots will be re-allocated via the Document Governing All Sanctioned Lightning Class Championships, Articles Governing All Lightning World Championships Article V, Entries.

In addition to the slots mentioned above the following individuals are extended an invitation to participate:

David Dellenbaugh (Past Champion) The International Masters Champion at the time entries are due for the World

Rob Ruhlman The current Vice President, Worlds

  Three (3) additional entries that may be selected by the Executive Committee from Countries not otherwise represented to foster or expand

  Lightning interest in those Countries.
