Select Group of South American Women Lightning Sailors:
The International Lightning Class and the Pan Am organization are discussing the possibility that the Lightning adopt a minimum of two women aboard. This is a very real possibility as Pam Am Sailing can actually make this decision by themselves.
Being a non-Olympic Class we continue to struggle to stay in the Pan Am Games. The Pam Am organizers are getting pressure to comply with a 50/50 gender split amongst athletes. One thing we can do as a Class is to help support the gender split by embracing a 2 woman minimum. While this is no guarantee the Lightning will stay in the Games, it will certainly help in the Pan Am Organizers initiative.
Please take a few minutes to complete this Pan American Games Survey Women's Voice- It's only 4 questions.
We need responses back by Thursday, February 4th, 5pm Eastern/ Quito, ECU time. (GMT-5)
If you have any trouble with the survey please contact Class Secretary Laura Jeffers via What's App at +1 727-215-2579 or by email office@lightningclass.org
Thank You!

(GMT-5)
