You are invited to join us for the SELD District Championship - open to all Lightning sailors!

Come early and join us for practice, early check in and fun on Friday, June 7th.

Per Lenny Krawcheck: Augusta is looking forward to hosting us! Bob Harkrider is the PRO, and he is excellent. The food will be prepared by a professional chef who sails, and having eaten his cooking, I will tell you we are in for a treat. Come and join us!

Registration

Registration fee-$80 (includes $30 SELD fee)

Meals

Registration includes Friday dinner ("Big Daddy's Burgers and Brew") for Skipper and Crew. Additional Friday night dinners may be ordered online,$12/person. Saturday dinner is not included and must be pre-ordered at the online storefront in Regatta Network. Saturday dinner options include:

Brett's Southern BBQ Plate with Brussels Sprouts Slaw and Baked Mac-n-Cheese; $15 per person (must order by 6/6/24)
Chef Brett's "Largest LobsterRoll Ever"; $25 per person (must order by 6/1/24)

Your District Championship is your qualifier for the 2024 North American Championship at the Buffalo Canoe Club. As of April 25th 38 Boats are already REGISTERED for the NAs! Don't miss out! Make your plans to be at the BCC in August!

30 and Under Entry Fee Subsidy

The Limbaugh Fund will reimburse skippers aged 30 and under for up to 50% of regatta entry fees for 2024. Those looking for support should send an email to the Lightning Class office (office@lightningclass.org) with “Limbaugh Subsidy” in the subject line and include the following information:

—Names and ages of your 3 team members.

—Regatta name, location and dates.

—Entry fee (base fee only, please do not include ala carte items such as meals, t-shirts, etc.)

—Home address of the skipper

The Limbaugh Fund Committee will review your request and respond within 2 weeks. You will be reimbursed with the determined amount shortly after your participation in the event.

Allen 14728 - For Sale - Keep it in the SELD District!

Built in 1995, this boat sat in a garage for about 10 years. We bought in 2017, put all new rigging on it, and raced it for the next 5 years. Most recently, finished 5th in 2022 Wild Oyster, and 2nd in the Wrightsville Beach open. Blue Deck, old but fast.

Had a newish set of Proctor sails, used in 3 regattas 2022 (main, jib, and chute).

In 2023, New trailer tires, New upper and lower shrouds, some cosmetic work.

Hate to see this boat sitting in the driveway all the time, it needs to be out sailing. We had a blast on it. For $5000, this boat is a steal. Please, someone buy it and get it back out on the water! Email: elaineparshall@gmail.com
