World Championship Country Allocation and Deadlines to Report
Confirmation Deadlines
October 15, 2026 - Countries need to inform the Class Office the number of boats they intend to enter and if they would like to request any additional slots.
November 1, 2026 - Re-Allocate any unused slots.
December 1, 2026 - Countries are required to submit a confirmed list of entrants.
January 1, 2027 - Re-Allocation of any slots not registered.
February 1, 2027 - Registration deadline. (Late Fee begins after this date.)
March 15, 2027 - Registration closed.

Entry will be per the Document Governing, ARTICLES GOVERNING ALL LIGHTNING CLASS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, Section V. Entries. The number of country slots will be published soon. Each country should check with their Country VP to see when individual Country Qualifiers will take place. The US Qualifier will be the North American Championship to be held in Sheboygan, WI Aug 10-15, 2026. To qualify for the North Americans you must sail/register for your District Championship.

- Mon, April 5: TBA Class Meetings/ Measurement
- Tue, April 6: TBA Class Meetings/Registration and Measurement, Opening Ceremony
- Wed, April 7: Racing begins
- Thurs, April 8: Racing
- Fri, April 9: Racing
- Sat, April 10: Race concludes and closing ceremonies
