Ian and Lindy Edwards are no strangers to the Lightning Class! They have been sailing in the Class for 20 years. They have sailed in every World Championship since 2007 - and they will be in Finland June 2019 too! They have been active with Lagos, Nigeria Fleet 521 and Houston, TX Fleet 510. They have since retired and moved back to Australia where they hope to re-kindle Lightning activity!
Always looking for an adventure, Ian and Lindy launched Wings, a new Dehler 46 in November 2017. Ian and his amateur team have competed in the 2018 PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race, finishing in sixth on line honors, second on IRC in Division 2, and PHS 2nd overall. The crew enjoys sailing together, the journey, sailing as fast as they can and, in longer offshore races, ensuring they have the best boat food!
