#GOT-FLASHES Challenge – Get Out There!
Earn recognition for the number of days you sail a Lightning each year. Awards will be given for 10, 25, 50 or more days spent on a Lightning each year. Engage your fleet for some fun intra-club competition! Or compete for days with other clubs within your District. Create some buzz!
Here’s how it works:
1. An easy-to-use log form has been created on the GOT-Flashes page of the ILCA website, or can be accessed just by saving and clicking this link: www.lightningclass.org/GOTFlashesLog
2. Go Sailing. Get a Lightning in the water and off the dock!
3. Track your days. Use the form at www.lightningclass.org/GOTFlashesLog to log each day you sail. Each day is a separate entry form. Complete and submit the form, and get ready to go sailing again. It’s that simple.
4. It's not just about your Lightning. Count days crewing on other peoples' Lightnings. Any time sailing on any Lightning counts. You don’t have to own a Lightning or be a skipper – we encourage crews to participate too!
5. Freebies: boat work days and race committee time. After you’ve reached the first tier (10 days), we allow up to 5 days of Lightning boat/trailer maintenance and/or on-the-water Race Committee work on days where Lightnings are racing to count as "on-the-water" days. We only allow a total of 5 "freebie" days per year.
6. Just get the boat off the dock. Even one hour on a Lightning counts as a "day" on the water, so go sailing!
7. You must log your days by December 31of each year.
